Tantrwm recently produced films for inclusion at the RCT Attendance and Wellbeing Service’s “Attend and Achieve” award ceremony.
The awards are designed to recognise young people who experience particularly tough circumstances yet maintain, or improve school attendance. Tantrwm were asked to produce individual short films to include the students of each school’s nomination. Twenty three schools and youth centres participated in the awards and this involved filming at each school/centre, within a short period of time. Creative Director, Stephen Hanks said “It was an absolute pleasure to meet so many supportive and caring teachers and support officers, all of who nominated the young people.”. The event itself was a success with all the nominees present to collect their awards. Plus, each of the films were screened to a warm and appreciative audience.
It was awe-inspiring to see the achievement of these young people who, despite facing personal or family difficulties, have gone above and beyond to maintain or improve their school attendance. Their stories were touching and a real testament to their character and resilience. Content Manager, Iwan Davies, who presented at the event and said “You could really feel how proud family members, teachers and support staff were of these young people. It was a very touching event to be a part of.”
