3 Person Film Crew

Three-person crew

On some jobs, it is necessary to supplement the basic crew to bring additional skills or capacity to the shoot.

The exact make-up of a three-person crew will depend on the job, but will generally include a self-shooting director, production assistant and one of the following:

Sound recordist

While our basic crews have the skills and equipment to record good quality sound in interviews, if good sound is required in more complex situations, then a specialist is recommended. They will have access to a greater range of recording equipment and a higher skill level to ensure that no matter how challenging the situation, you will get the best possible sound.

Lighting Technician

Our basic crews carry a limited amount of light equipment with them, but as with sound, we may sometimes require something more intricate or simply with more oomph.

Cinematographer/Camera Op

Our directors are also great camera operators. But on some shoots, it may not be advisable to have the directing and camera work done by one person. So having a dedicated cinematographer looking after the camerawork can be a good idea. This could be because we require a very specific look, or because the job of directing is especially complex due to VFX work or that the story is especially delicate.

Domain specialist/journalist

We always do our research, but some interviews require the person asking the questions to have the kind of thorough command of the subject area that only comes with years of study. In these cases we like to bring in someone who has the right background to ensure that you get the material you require.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
