[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Before we can build a website you’ll need a domain. A domain is the website address you type into your browser.
On this particular webpage the domain is www.tantrwm.com, and you want something equally as representative of your business.
I already have a domain
If you already own a domain then you’re one step ahead of the game. You’ll have to login to your domain provider and change the name server settings to point our server. Just click on the below Name Server links, then copy and paste them straight in:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][ultimate_modal modal_title=”Name server 1:” modal_on=”text” read_text=”Name server 1″ modal_size=”medium” overlay_bg_opacity=”80″ txt_color=”#32b4da”]ns1.tantrwm.co.uk[/ultimate_modal][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][ultimate_modal modal_title=”Name server 2:” modal_on=”text” read_text=”Name server 2″ modal_size=”medium” overlay_bg_opacity=”80″ txt_color=”#32b4da”]ns2.tantrwm.co.uk[/ultimate_modal][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]If you have any trouble with this then get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
If you already own your domain but aren’t sure which domain provider you are with, let us know and we’ll see if we can help out.
I’d like to transfer my domain to Tantrwm
If your domain is currently held by someone outside of your company (like a different web design company that you no longer wish to use), then you can transfer the domain from them to Tantrwm.
Doing so will make building your website run more smoothly. We’d require the person/company who own your domain to change some settings, and it’s quicker if we can change these settings ourselves and avoid any potential delays.
I need a domain
If you don’t already own your domain then we can purchase it for you. First you must decide on a domain name. We’d recommend keeping it simple and as short as possible. The longer it is the more chance there is of someone making a mistake when typing it into their browser.
You also need to think of something unique so that the domain isn’t already purchased. If your company is called Bunton Brothers Carpentry then you aren’t going to have much luck purchasing bbc.co.uk.
Choosing .com or .co.uk
The suffix can distinguish your domain, giving it more chance of being available. A domain suffix or extension is the part of a website address that comes after the full stop. On this particular page it is .com.
There are hundreds of suffixes these days, with new ones being released all of the time. Here’s a list of ones currently available.
You may want to purchase more than one suffix to prevent somebody else from buying it. Tantrwm own a couple, and clicking the below links will all send you to the same place…
tantrwm.co.uk
tantrwm.com
tantrwm.uk
The suffix also makes a big difference when it comes to price.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]
We’ve used just about every domain provider over the years. We like UK Reg, and whereas they are nominally more expensive than some of their competitors, they offer the best service. We find that it’s worth paying slightly more to avoid the hassle that is involved with other domain providers.
UK Reg run special offers throughout the year, and if there is a reduction in the price when we come to buy your domain we will pass the saving onto you.
“Renting” your domain
The above price allows you to rent the domain for one year. Once the 12 months are up, if you wish to continue renting the domain you’ll need to renew it. The renewal cost will be similar to the above prices.
We get in touch a couple of weeks prior to expiry to ask if you want to renew. If it’s a yes then we’ll send you an invoice, and we only renew your domain after it’s paid.
If it expires but you still want to renew, depending on how long it has lapsed, we may be able to renew after the fact. But this has all sorts of repercussions with your website and email temporarily ceasing to function, which is fiddly to put back online. So we’d more than likely charge extra for sorting this out for you.
You have the option of renting the domain for longer than one year. You can purchase a domain for up to 10 years. Here are prices on the same suffixes for 3 years:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][TS-VCSC-Content-Flip front_title=”.co.uk” front_wrapper=”h5″ font_fronttitle_family=”Default:regular” font_frontcontent_family=”Default:regular” back_title=”£25.16 for 3 years” back_wrapper=”h5″ font_backtitle_family=”Default:regular” font_backcontent_family=”Default:regular” front_background=”#c9a3de” back_background=”#9dbfa4″][TS-VCSC-Content-Flip front_title=”.com” front_wrapper=”h5″ font_fronttitle_family=”Default:regular” font_frontcontent_family=”Default:regular” back_title=”£39.56 for 3 years” back_wrapper=”h5″ font_backtitle_family=”Default:regular” font_backcontent_family=”Default:regular” front_background=”#c9a3de” back_background=”#9dbfa4″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][TS-VCSC-Content-Flip front_title=”.org.uk” front_wrapper=”h5″ font_fronttitle_family=”Default:regular” font_frontcontent_family=”Default:regular” back_title=”£25.16 for 3 years” back_wrapper=”h5″ font_backtitle_family=”Default:regular” font_backcontent_family=”Default:regular” front_background=”#c9a3de” back_background=”#9dbfa4″][TS-VCSC-Content-Flip front_title=”.org” front_wrapper=”h5″ font_fronttitle_family=”Default:regular” font_frontcontent_family=”Default:regular” back_title=”£43.16 for 3 years” back_wrapper=”h5″ font_backtitle_family=”Default:regular” font_backcontent_family=”Default:regular” front_background=”#c9a3de” back_background=”#9dbfa4″][TS-VCSC-Content-Flip front_title=”.net” front_wrapper=”h5″ font_fronttitle_family=”Default:regular” font_frontcontent_family=”Default:regular” back_title=”£43.16 for 3 years” back_wrapper=”h5″ font_backtitle_family=”Default:regular” font_backcontent_family=”Default:regular” front_background=”#c9a3de” back_background=”#9dbfa4″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][TS-VCSC-Content-Flip front_title=”.uk” front_wrapper=”h5″ font_fronttitle_family=”Default:regular” font_frontcontent_family=”Default:regular” back_title=”£25.16 for 3 years” back_wrapper=”h5″ font_backtitle_family=”Default:regular” font_backcontent_family=”Default:regular” front_background=”#c9a3de” back_background=”#9dbfa4″][TS-VCSC-Content-Flip front_title=”.wales” front_wrapper=”h5″ font_fronttitle_family=”Default:regular” font_frontcontent_family=”Default:regular” back_title=”£35.96 for 3 years” back_wrapper=”h5″ font_backtitle_family=”Default:regular” font_backcontent_family=”Default:regular” front_background=”#c9a3de” back_background=”#9dbfa4″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Get in touch if you’d like prices on other lengths of rental.
We charge a £60 admin fee for purchasing a domain for you, and will invoice you the cost of purchasing the domain(s) + £60. It’s the same admin fee whether you buy one domain or 10 different ones.
We also charge £60 to transfer a domain from another domain provider to ours.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
