Having an email address that contains your web address has 2 benefits.
Firstly it’s a kind of all-inclusive advertising for your website since the second half of it is your domain. How many times have we had an email from somewhere and thought “I know, I’ll check out their website”.
Then there’s the added air of professionalism. Getting an email from someone ending in @gmail.com or @btconnect.co.uk makes you question the level of experience of the person sending it. Whereas getting an email that contains the business’ web address makes you think it’s more legitimate.
There are 2 types of email that can be set up for you:
- Redirects
- Mailboxes
You can only receive emails sent to a redirected email address. This is useful for generic email addresses like info@example.co.uk. The bonus being if someone emails this address it can be redirected to multiple email addresses, so you and your partner get automatic emails to your regular email addresses for for emails sent to orders@example.co.uk in case one of you is off work and not picking up emails.
If you are happy with your Gmail or Hotmail address because you like the interface (although you can link any email address to Gmail and Hotmail these days), then this option is also best for you. That way any email sent to john@example.co.uk can be redirected to john@hotmail.com so you can reply from there.
A mailbox is needed for email addresses that can send and receive emails. We’d recommend every employee who uses email at your company have their own bespoke address.
Mailboxes should be linked to your Mail Client software such as Outlook, Gmail or Mail on an iPhone. The process of setting this up can take a few minutes, and we can help you with this.
All mailboxes come with a web portal allowing you to send and receive emails using any web browser. So if you are out and about, your phone has died but you need to read your emails to check something, you can nip into an internet cafe and access your emails online.
You get a total of up to 10 redirects or mailboxes included in the price of a Standard package web hosting package.
If 10 aren’t enough, or maybe a new staff member requires an email address down the line – then you’ll need this package.
For £25.00 we’ll setup an additional 10 redirects or mailboxes for you.
If you have our Premium package, then you’ll have access to our portal where you can create unlimited email addresses. If you don’t have the time or skills to do this, then this package may also interest you.
**NB**
We create 2 email redirects that are necessary for building your website (social@ and webmaster@). These 2 email addresses aren’t included and you are allowed an additional 10. If you opt for the Premium package and access the portal we’d ask that you don’t remove these email, as doing so may cause your website to stop working effectively.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
