The Tantrwm team have been very busy, working on a wide range of events including getting English Language Teachers LIVE!.
All of which needed to be streamed live. each requiring unique solutions and each with its own challenges.
The most challenging, in terms of event size and equipment required, was the 49th IATEFL conference held at the “Manchester Central” convention complex, a large exhibitions venue in the heart of Manchester, which used to be the northern railway terminus for services running from the North to London St.Pancras!!
There we set up a TV style multi-camera broadcast studio, equipped with remote controlled High Definition cameras, robotic sliders, and loads more hi-tech camera and broadcast gear.
We also brought a smaller live studio box, which we set up permanently in the main conference hall to record and stream all the keynotes and plenary sessions, and two mobile studio boxes, which we wheeled around from room to room to capture and stream the most important breakout sessions.
As the amazing amount of equipment needed for the event was being prepared for the journey up North, we started thinking of alternative plans to transport it all, such as hiring another van, as some of our fleet was out for a full re-fit.
Only due to our director Andrew’s enviable stacking skills and technique, we managed to pack everything in ONE vehicle!! Clearly he spent far too much time playing Tetris as a kid! 🙂
We had a wonderful time broadcasting heaps of compelling, thought-provoking, content-packed lectures and seminars LIVE to an audience of over 100.000 people from all over the world. We also had the pleasure of working alongside an amazing in-house team of professional, knowledgeable and ever-helpful Audio-Visual technicians.
Definitely a week to remember!!
