Whether you are an up & coming new local band looking to widen your audience, a seasoned, tour-hardened pro with a loyal following in faraway places, or a promoter pushing for one of your acts to make it to the big time, Live Streaming of your music event can offer instant worldwide access to your artistry at a fraction of the cost of a traditional TV broadcast. And it can easily be turned into a source of revenue.
A great example of how Live Streaming can work for your gig, is the “Alan Barton 20th anniversary Memorial concert”.
The concert was set up by Dean Barton and his band (Spirit of Smokie) to celebrate the life and musical achievements of his father, the late Alan Barton, once front-man and singer of iconic 70s and 80s bands Black Lace and Smokie.
The concert was hosted in the amazing surroundings of Saint George’s Hall, an imposing victorian style theatre in the centre of Bradford.
The event started with celebrity support sets by Black Lace themselves, followed by a solo spot by ‘Mr Agadoo’, Dene Michael, who has recently been back in the limelight with an appearance on the UK hit TV show ‘The Voice’.
It then continued on by featuring a full set by Spirit of Smokie themselves, who played a very energetic and emotional set, full of crowd pleasing anthems hand-picked from the heights of Alan’s career, and a few original tunes penned by Dean himself.
The night also featured special video messages from stars like Bonnie Tyler and Suzie Quatro, who wanted to contribute to the night although couldn’t physically be present. This was testament to how well loved and appreciated Alan was among performers.
The event was a roaring success with a near sold out venue, and all of the evening’s proceeds were donated to the Yorkshire Children’s Trust, highlighting Dean and the band’s  commitment to charity.
Tantrwm’s contribution to the evening was the live video coverage of the night, with a 5 cameras HD set up, edited live and instantly broadcast online to the world.
The Live Stream was followed by thousands of people globally, with viewership numbers particularly high in Germany, where Spirit of Smokey has a loyal fan-base and enjoys good commercial success.
It was amazing to be part of such an event, with so many people gathered together to remember the life and work of a truly great British Rock n’ Roll artist,  while raising funds for a totally worthwhile cause.
Certainly a night to remember!
It doesn’t matter WHEREÂ your gig is, if you want to go LIVE to the world, give Tantrwm a call. We can help you go GLOBAL!!!
