The SPA Film Festival – People’s Award nomination for Tantrwm

Tantrwm are very proud to have a nomination for the SPA Film Festival people’s award. We created the video with Glamorgan Archives.

Anyone can give a nomination for the nine advocacy films on archives and/or records management for the People´s Award 2016. Please take a look at the film and please vote for us!

Nine films have been nominated in three categories. The only UK archive service to feature amongst the nominations being Glamorgan Archives!

The project involved users of Welsh archives being asked to submit a story about their experiences and discoveries as a result of using the service. A total of 76 entries were received from all over Wales and 21 winners were selected to each win £100.

Six of the winning stories have been made into films. This film shows how self-advocacy group ‘Cardiff People First’ started a project two years ago to help their older members tell their stories about Ely Hospital in Cardiff.

Glamorgan Archives played a key role in their research showing old ordinance survey maps and documents of Ely and helping them understand what it all meant.
